«Singing tetrapods» w/ Dmitrii Novitskii for High North AiR Network residence, Air Barents, Berlevågatelieene, Kvitbrakka, 2015

«Singing Tetrapods», 2015 — commissioned public art project for High North AiR Network residence, based on marine navigation marks and signs, having the marine history of Berlevåg and Norway in mind. The decor of tetrapods should not only face. If you look closely, you can see that the lines consist of elements: fishing boats, fish, midnight sun, flags, etc. I have received inspiration from Berlevåg and the maritime environment. The project caused a discussion among local people. Some believed that it was impossible to touch the symbols of the city; others supported the idea of the choir.

«Welcome!» w/ Alexandr Menukhov, ArtBase Helgeland 66°N, Sandnessjøen, Norway, 2015

Project ”Welcome!” is a commissioned public art project with ArtBase Helgeland 66°N in Sandnessjøen, Norway, which was realized in 2015. In public works, I often come across the desire of the «customer». For example, in Sandnessjøen, it was necessary to renovate the old wall in front of the Vinmonopolet, at the point where tourists boarded the Hurtigruten and spend a couple of hours. The veiled purpose of painting is to draw money to the city and shops. So people appeared on the wall and jumped in the ice hole, holes with oil, and colored splashes personified the wealth of Norway.

Our main idea -is to explore space and a place, to learn history, and to meet with local people. We caught the idea of transforming the familiar place -the wall on the coast. We used bright colors in the harsh city and it was a gift for local people -large fruit trees (fruits -the floats, found on the coast). During the opening, the city dwellers signed their names on the fruits-floats, as an allegory: the forest -is a city, and fruits -it is people. They are born, bloom, mature, and die.
